Unlike some of the other versions , however , there is no happy ending . In fact , the last view , in which one of the transform fictitious character accost his former friend , is one that chills the blood even now .
Videodrome
David Cronenberg is one of those directors who seems to have honed the genre of body repulsion down to an art descriptor , and this moving picture is a unspoilt example of his particular trade name of filmmaking . Among other thing , it explores the permeability of the human body , as well as the purportedly dangerous nature of new engineering ( in this case the VCR ) .
