Hatchet II

Hatchet ’s hulking , brutal slasher Victor Crowley has so far powderise his way through four flick , and here ’s how they heap up , speculative to undecomposed . For the most part , they just do n’t make slasher icons like they used to . While pot of slasher movie still get made , it ’s rarefied to find anyone on the layer of ill fame and respect within the horror residential district as say a Freddy Krueger , Jason Voorhees , or Michael Myers . A quality candidate for unspoilt slasher icon to come out since the heyday of that infernal trio though is Victor Crowley .

While Victor is n’t nearly as culturally ubiquitous as the anterior three were back in the 1980s slasher glory days , he ’s a visually interesting , threateningly - depicted behemoth that just screams out " this is n’t a person to mess with . " Well , take on one can count Victor as a someone , since he ’s technically been dead for decades . Still , partly thanks to have fan - favorite Jason actor Kane Hodder under the makeup , Victor Crowley sports an strain of utter intimidation .

That only increases once one sees him in action , as Victor rips asunder and just decimates victims with his marginal work force , in a manner that Michael Myers would belike witness and slowly back away from . While it remain to be seen if a fifthHatchetwill happen , fans will always have these four films to satiate their bloodlust .

4. Hatchet 2

It ’s worth observe right off that for a slasher rooter , none of theHatchetmovies could really be called outright forged . They all provide Victor Crowley eradicate whoever gets in his way of life , and number with a good amount of comic relief in between the bloodbath . That ’s all to say that just becauseHatchet 2is the bad one , does n’t mean it ’s a terrible slasher film . A big knock against it is the decision to largely empty trying to make Victor scary in exchange for possess him fight a group of badasses or else . It ’s exciting , but not nearly as tense . On the bright side , Danielle Harristaking over as Marybeth Dunston is an divine bit of molding , and seeing Tony " Candyman " Todd have a bash with Victor will be enough to make most horror fans urge .

3. Victor Crowley

AfterHatchet 3 , it looked likeVictor Crowleymight finally be dead , but of class , that would n’t last forever . Victor Crowleyarrived about four long time later to reignite the franchise , and did a really respectable job of it , with many considering it the good continuation . The biggest bang againstHatchet 4is probably just how low budget it looks , to an extent that the previous sequels did n’t . It being confined to a single emplacement , that being a crashed planing machine , also get a second repetitious , making viewers long to see more of Victor ’s swampland again . Some of the characters are also kind off - putting too . But at least it ’s superior stalk normal , vulnerable people again .

2. Hatchet 3

Hatchet 3is the only Hatchet movie to engagement not to be directed by creatorAdam Green , and with all due respect , it ’s the most visually appealing . color , like the orangish , fiery hue seen above pop more , and Victor ’s make - up is also probably the beneficial it ’s look to engagement . Harris is once again great as Marybeth , and the commixture of characters for Victor to encounter and/or kill is well balanced this clock time , sporting both badasses to give Victor a challenge - such as Derek Mears ' SWAT drawing card - and more normal folk for him to trail and frighten . The further evolution of Marybeth into a sort of final female child Rambo is a act much though .

1. Hatchet

Really , could there be any other choice for the top spot ? There are sure thing the sequels do better than Green ’s originalHatchetfilm , such as the casting of Marybeth , but Hatchet anticipate old - school American repugnance , and delivered . Victor ’s kill are absolutely shocking the first time they ’re seen , and the antic are well overall , with Joel David Moore help oneself out as a very likable co - lead . In many direction , Hatchetis a much less refined picture than its follow - ups , but that ’s part of its atavist appeal . Slasher fans should seekHatchetout if they have n’t watch it .
