American Horror Story

Ryan Murphy deserve quite a lot of quotation for his versatility as a creator . He ’s responsible for some of the most notable television series of the last X , and at the top of that lean isAmerican Horror Story , the anthological horror dramatic play that explores the most horrifying parts of American society through the lense of the repulsion genre ’s trappings .

Each time of year centre on a unlike story and a specific style of revulsion , but it all originate withMurder Housewhich , as the title suggests , focuses on a ill-famed family full of execution , violence , and trace . As compelling as it is , however , there are a few things in that first time of year that just do n’t make sense ( and it has itsfair share of bad episode , too ) .

How & Why Is Moira So Old?

Moira is one of the more tragic graphic symbol to look in the season , since she does n’t seem to deserve the atrocious fate that was dealt to her as she was murdered by Constance . Throughout the serial , she appear sometimes as an older cleaning lady ( play by Frances Conroy , one of the casting ’s good members ) and sometimes as a younger woman .

While the latter is   revealed to be a shapeshifting force that she utilise   to trick men ( which she often use to do so ) , it is n’t really explained why she get on so much as a ghost in the first spot since she go bad comparatively young . ordinarily , a ghost would be pin down in the eld in which they died but this is n’t the case with Moira .

Why Do Some Ghosts Appear As They Died & Some Don’t?

Given how many people kick the bucket in the titular house , it ’s not surprising that it would be full of touch , the subtlety of those who have fail and are ineffective to move on . What make water less good sense , however , is why there seems to be such a disparity between the unlike types of ghosts . This , in a elbow room , is an extension of the aforesaid inconsistency with Moira .

Why , for example , do some shade show sign of how they conk out but others do not ? It would have been helpful to get at least a bit of diegetic explanation for why this is the case .

Why Does No One Seem To Care About The Exterminator?

One thing that should be obvious about slaying firm is that no one should go there , and that include exterminator . Unfortunately , the man the eradicator who does pop up does n’t seem to have gotten the memoranda , and so he end up being killed .

What makes even less sense is why it appears that no one is interested in come to look for him . Presumably , at least his fellowship would require to know what happened to one of their employee who has n’t reported for day and did n’t even return his terminator caravan .

Why Does No One Seem To Care About Joe?

A similar question to the one above stalk the death of Joe Escandarian , the real estate agentwho want to work up condo on the home ’s site . It ca-ca sense , of course , that he would stop up numb , especially since his business plan would disrupt the way that the ghosts have learned to live on with one another .

However , it once again strains credulity more than a bit to call back that no one would think to investigate Joe ’s sudden disappearance , since he   was clearly part of the local real estate prospect in a big way .

Why Do Some Ghosts Know They’re Ghosts But Others Don’t?

There ’s no question that part of what makes the inaugural time of year   ofAmerican Horror Storyso scary are the ghosts . It ’s not just that they are frightening in and of themselves ; it ’s that they force the viewer to confront the revulsion of what it would be like to never elude   a haunted house . It ’s frightening in an existential direction .

What makes less sense , however , is why some ghosts seem to know that they ’re trace and others do not . Given how much these ghosts like to talk amongst themselves and even some to living man , one would think that at least one of them would be capable to put up a satisfactory account .

Why Did The Writers Think A Columbine Reference Was A Good Idea?

There are fourth dimension whenAmerican Horror Storyreally does seem to get out front of itself in terms of its own cleverness , specially in how it create use of events that happened in the real world .

That being said , the   question ( " Do you believe in God ? " ) Tate asks Stephanie during the in - universe 1994   Westfield High Massacre   seems like a deliberate character to 1999 Columbine High School Massacre , to say nothing of the numerous other shooting that have taken spot since then . While it certainly adds to his reference , it does make one wonder why the writers that was such a good approximation .

Why Did It Take So Long For Violet To Realize She Was Dead?

Anyone who has realise even a few episode ofMurder Houseknows that it likes nothing more thantwists and turn , tricking the audience into believe one thing has happened while in reality it ’s something else . In this casing ,   the show promote the audience to think that Violet did n’t succeed in taking her own life , when in fact she did .

The real sticker , however , is how it accept her so long to recognize that she was all in , when it should have been fairly obvious .

How Did Tate Get The Gimp Suit?

One of the most enduring closed book of this first time of year is how themurderous but sometimes lovableTate   managed to get the gimp courting from the trash can in the street , considering the fact that the ghosts are supposed to not be able to give the house . While shade can touch on physical objects in the vicinity , they can only do so within the confines of the execution house .

It ’s one of those moments where the show seems to sacrifice whatever intimate eubstance in favor of check that that the plot moves forward . That ’s the danger of quaggy and undercooked writing .

What Happened To Constance’s Fourth Child?

It goes without saying thatConstance Langdon is one of the best characterson the show . How could she not be when she ’s portrayed by the divine Jessica Lange ? Somehow , Lange always wield to project a magical spell in whatever show in which she seem .

There are some thing about her , though , that do n’t make a lot of sense , and one of those is the fact that she has a fourth tike that the hearing never hears anything about . turn over how much this show loves to search side plots and set up matter that are paid off later on , this seems a curious oversight .

Why Is Moira The Only Ghost With An Extra Ability?

Moire is emphatically an interesting reference , in part because she can come along in different guises , depending on whether she ’s encounter men or woman .

Not only does it not make sense that shecan geezerhood when the other ghosts ca n’t , it remains unclear why , exactly , she seems to have   this extra power when so many of the other ghosts do n’t seem to have any similar abilities at all . At best , the other ghost can knock stuff over . A little act of expo would have knead to authorise up this distracting mystery .
