The new prince is Billy " Wiccan " Kaplan , a reality - turn conjurer who has been by Hulkling ’s side since their first visual aspect inYoung Avengers . For Hulkling to take his throne and become what he calls " world-beater of outer space " , the Kree / Skrull loan-blend had to forswear all ties to Wiccan because his advisors see Billy severe to the emperor ’s ikon . But the distich had already run off , tied together by Earth jurisprudence , by beloved , and by Wiccan ’s magic . When Hulkling ’s forces and the champion of Earth shoot down both the Cotati foe and the supplanter to the pot , Wiccan rejoined him , this time with the blessing of the Kree / Skrull court .

Empyre Aftermath : Avengerstakes the sentence out to celebrate this victory and make Hulkling and Wiccan ’s union functionary . The pair get marriedfrom the motor inn of Hulkling ’s majestic flagship in a ceremonial that compound Kree , Skrull , and Jewish customs ( the third factor for Billy ’s inheritance ) . Together , Kree and Skrull elders appoint Billy with his titles in the bond : not just prince consort to Emperor Hulkling , but also court wizard to the Alliance . Billy ’s response is surprised but pleased : " Like Merlin ? I ’ll take it . " ( As readers cognize fromDoctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme , an former Wiccan finally meets Merlin when the two have to team up up for a cross - clip adventure , so the two have more in common that Billy in all probability knows . )
This is a secure tiding for the future tense of the royal pair , specially with the tragedy that readers know lie before .
