Screen Rant : I love this movie . I think it ’s prominent and even good than the former one , and I have to call out one of my favorite references really quick . We obtain a nice Jean - Ralphio Easter egg .
Ben Schwartz : Oh , my good , we sure did . And inspire on the dot as I did in the booth , which , shout out to the animators .
What other Easter egg are your front-runner that you think fans should watch out for ? There ’s quite a few in this movie . I was jot them down like crazy .
James Marsden : I did a couple of ten - Men Cyclops things …
Ben Schwartz : He does n’t stop blab about X - Men !
James Marsden : There were a couple of 27 Dresses and Bridesmaids thing that I did [ that got cut ] . We did n’t have [ a plenty of ] time , and the picture was find close to two hours . There ’s a Westworld affair …
Ben Schwartz : There was a scene where they go , " Hey , what do you need ? Do you desire a coffee or something ? " And he goes , " I do n’t know , I imagine a 27 dress … " Like , what ? " Cut ! "
James Marsden : It did n’t make sentiency . But it was like , " Hey , habituate it if you need , because the fans of 27 Dresses [ will care it . ] "
Ben Schwartz : Of course they did n’t , that would make no good sense !
James Marsden : You ’re in the 60s , but they ’ll apprize it .
Ben Schwartz : There ’s a long ton of groovy ones . First of all , a lot of the zones - you ’ll see piddling shout outs to zone , and we have mazes and stuff and nonsense like that . We have transonic underwater , which if you ’re a video recording biz person - like James and I when we ’re run low up - there ’s nothing more mettle wracking in the world than play Sonic , him being underwater , and then the numbers jotting down .
We also have cover of other games . We ’re doing all these fun short things .
James Marsden : giving lip over here .
Ben Schwartz : Yeah , I ’m giving it all aside . I ’m not gon na give the rest . But if you ’re a lover , you are going to be well taken care of . And if you ’re not a fan , it ’s going to be just as playfulness and exciting . You ’ll be able to see the extension as you go back and play the game .
Why did you show to James when you sound out , " if you ’re not a rooter ? "
Ben Schwartz : He ’s the biggest lover ! Are you kidding me ? I was pointing to someone over there . Mario and Luigi are literally right-hand there .
I was gon na ask what the most stressful moment in the chronicle of the games is , and I think you ’re right-hand . I think the number plus the euphony that they summate is so rude .
Ben Schwartz : Beep beep beep beep ! It ’s the most annoying thing in the universe .
James , did you get a nice tropical holiday out of this ?
James Marsden : I did , yeah . I ca n’t complain this time around . We got to go to Hawaii and shoot a freehanded wedding fit on the beach , and it was capital . He was kind of doing the social lion ’s plowshare of the work this time around .
Ben Schwartz : Did n’t get to go to Hawaii , but did get a coolheaded scene from James when he was over there .
James Marsden : We took many . We were bummed that he was n’t able to be there with us , so we took many picture every day with piña coladas in script . swim with sea turtle …
Ben Schwartz : Oh , yeah . There ’s a picture of him surf on two sea turtles .
James Marsden : And they ’re smiling . They wish it ; it ’s not contumely .
It seems like we ’re on our style to this big cinematic universe , I would say . What would you bed to see in a future film ? Do you consider we ’re in it for the tenacious draw with the Sonic world ?
James Marsden : You do n’t want to put the go-cart before the Equus caballus , of course . But it feels good . posture here , doing this with Ben and talking to you , it make it so much easier when you love the moving picture . Or you be intimate the merchandise , because sometimes we have to kind of pretend like we do .
I ’m exceedingly lofty of this moving picture , I ’m super proud of what we did the first time around , and I trust we go along making these movies . Ben ’s blab out about and described it as [ having ] elements of Indiana Jones . There ’s element of Marvel movie , and I think that has the potential difference to just keep expanding this universe .
And obviously , the video plot have been around since the early 90s , so there ’s so many more characters we can introduce . I hope this is gon na be a fun drive for a long time for everyone .
