Mulan ’s architectural plan to save the emperor butterfly during the last routine of the film put a twist on the movie ’s premise , take her brother primp up as women instead of her disguise herself as a guy . This consequence is comical because of how much playfulness Chien - Po , Ling , and Yao seem to be having saving the 24-hour interval in attire and composition .
