They ’ve service as loyal companions , and in some case , are just as powerful as the bomber they work with . Some of these role are still even have an impact on comics today . A regular dog , like Ace , is not of much enjoyment in combat except for being a beguilement . Whatever the case , firedog have been an integral part of DC history , standing alongside their greatest characters .
