James Gunn , the directorof theGuardians of the Galaxyfilms , suggest that the Ravagers could return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe . Based on the Marvel   superheroes who have been around in the page of Marvel comic since the 1970s , the firstGuardiansmovie come out in August of 2014 as part of Phase Two of the MCU . Its continuation , Guardians of the Galaxy Vol . 2 , was release in May of 2017 as part of Phase Three . Both films were meet with cocksure inspection .

In the celluloid , the Ravagers are an intergalactic crime consortium consisting of thief , soldier of fortune , and bandits . They abducted Peter Quill ( Chris Pratt ) from Earth when he was a youngster   at the bidding of his father , Ego the Living Planet ( Kurt Russell ) . The most prominent Ravager in the films wasYondu Udonta , played by Michael Rooker . In the second movie , it was revealed that although the new Quill was theorise to be delivered to his father , Yondu refused to do it because he was cognizant of Ego ’s evil intentions . Yondu cared for the Thomas Kyd and choose to raise him as his own , ultimately sacrifice himself to save   Quill ’s life .
