House Hufflepuff is credibly one of the most universally darling of the four Houses at Hogwarts that look inHarry Potter(even ifsome people say it ’s the unfit ) . Time and again , the members show themselves to be generous and tolerant , and very few of their members show any unlimited harshness , as opposed to , say , either Slytherin or Ravenclaw , both of which have had their fairish share of nasty bookman . Even Gryffindor has had some fellow member that are less than appeal .
However , that ’s not to say that all of the scholar who go to Hufflepuff are universally like , for while there are several students that fans love , there are also several that they ca n’t stand .
Likable: Newt Scamander
Newt Scamander is one of those characters that it ’s almost impossible to detest . He just seems to have such an whiteness about him that he ’s instantly loveable ( part of this no doubt staunch from the fact that he ’s played by Eddie Redmayne ) . Among other things , he seems to have a genuine love for the magical animal that he takes under his care , and anyone who can do that , specially consider how serious some of those animals are , is very loveable indeed . And , in some important manner , he ’s like Harry himself .
Can’t Stand: Justin Finch-Fletchley
Justin Finch - Flecthely , on the other hand , is one of the few Hufflepuff bookman who just … is n’t that great , or even that nice . He showed himself just a bit too eager to believe that Harry was the heir of Slytherin , and he likewise became very unfriendly to Harry when he was chosen as one of the two Champions ( the other , of course , being Cedric Diggory ) .
Though he might not be as bad as some of the bad part , he ’s also not a particularly squeamish one either .
Likable: Pomona Sprout

This is the woman , after all , who seems almost relentlessly upbeat as she instructs students about the practiced mode to handle the various magical plants and blossom in their care . When one sees her on the screen door , furthermore , she ’s just the type of prof that one can opine wanting to have , full of compassion , good cheer , and a deep core of bravery . What ’s not to love ?
Can’t Stand: Ernie Macmillan
Like so many of the other members of Hufflepuff , Ernie seemed to take a rather dim prospect of the fact that Harry was move to be compete with Diggory . Now , of class , one ca n’t blame him for this bit of resentment , but one would suppose that supposedly being Harry ’s booster , he might have try at least a little turn unwilling to wear one of the “ Potter Stinks ” badge put out by Draco . regrettably , he did , and that really does n’t say very much for his fiber .
Likable: Nymphadora Tonks
It ’s probably not too much of an exaggeration to say that Tonks is one of the best - loved of the subaltern character of the Harry Potter universe , even if there ’s a lot of fans do n’t always know about her . It ’s of import to commemorate , for example , that she remained love and loyal to Remus Lupin ( one of the series ’s most complicated characters ) even though she knew that he was a lycanthrope . It really does say a lot for her character that she was willing to even die with him in the Battle of Hogwarts , each of them struggling against the force of Voldemort , both of them sacrifice their all for the cause of trade good .
Can’t Stand: Cedric Diggory
Now , it might seem a little strange to have Cedric Diggory as one of the Hufflepuffs that sports fan ca n’t place upright , but it has to be said that he ’s one of those characters who ’s just a routine too secure and noble . While this makes him good enough for a lowly fictional character , he really does sometimes eat into on the nerves . One sometimes wishes that he could show some planetary house that he ’s just as flawed and unreasonable as most of the other characters . It ’s also worth orient out that , in some significant ways , he and Harry were n’t very near friends to each other .
Likable: Susan Bones
While most Hufflepuffs are likable in a vapid sort of way , Susan Bones becomes something special . While she does leap into the Harry disapproval a bit too well ( like many of the other members of Hufflepuff ) , she also proved herself very fearless and willing to get together Dumbledore ’s Army . What ’s more , she had to endure the death of her family member at the hands of the Death Eaters , but this did n’t turn back her from continuing to be the unspoiled student and warrior that she could be .
Can’t Stand: Zacharias Smith
Zacharias Smith is one of the few members of Hufflepuff who is authentically and exceedingly dislikable . Not only does he go out of his path to ignore and say cruel thing about Gryffindors , but he also proves himself to be nothing less than a Noel Coward during the Battle of Hogwarts .
One ca n’t help but question whether the Sorting Hat might have made a mistake in allowing him to be put into a house that is supposed to appraise loyalty and ethical motive above almost anything else .
Likable: Teddy Lupin
Poor Teddy Lupin . It must have been very difficult spring up up without either of his parents ( both of whom fall back their living during the Battle of Hogwarts , a tragic luck fortwo people who were manifestly soulmates ) . However , from what has been revealed about his life story and youth , he seems to have done pretty well for himself , bring off to find love and happiness , and all of this despite the fact that the malicious Rita Skeeter seemed to take a fussy delight in smearing him with the rumor that he was a werewolf . Though he was n’t , he was capable to alter his shape as his mother had done .
Can’t Stand: Hannah Abbott
Throughout most of her time in the books ( and more or less in the movies ) , Abbott point herself to be a rather credulous kind of someone . She believes , for case , that Sirius was able to twist himself into a bush . One would have call up that even a young student would recognize the patent of invention absurdity of such a matter . More importantly , like so many other Hufflepuffs in her friendship group , she proved herself very willing to plow on Harry the arcminute that he became another competitor .
