Loved: Albus Dumbledore
This is something of a contentious entrance , because it is intemperately dependant on the fan , and whether they are study the book of account or the films . Either way , Dumbledore is sleep with for most of the series , and more than that , by most of the students . He is incredibly knock-down , but fuck how to anneal that and what his own weaknesses are . Hated: Severus Snape

Loved: Alastor Moody
The last of the controversial entries is Mad - Eye Moody - and this is only controversial because for the full stop of prison term that Moody was a professor at Hogwarts , it was n’t Moody at all , but Barty Crouch Jr.

Hated: Horace Slughorn
Slughorn was n’t as straight-out evil as some of the other detest prof at Hogwarts , but he was somewhat appalling anyway . He was a solid teacher , but like many others , he had clear favorites . In Slughorn ’s pillowcase , at least he did n’t show his favoritism by actively strong-arm some of his class , but his conclusion to have an exclusive club of the privileged , attached , and gifted educatee was an odious matter to do . Add in his pomposity , his habit of namedropping , and of trend , his role in Tom Riddle becoming Voldemort , and it ’s no wonderment most lover hate him .
Loved: Remus Lupin
Remus Lupin is n’t just one of the most have intercourse teachers at Hogwarts , he is one of the most get it on characters in the intact series . Originally , he was game warden , but his honey of all live thing saw him taking on the post of Care of Magical Creatures Professor afterward in the series . avowedly , as a instructor , Hagrid leave a lot to be desired , as his lessons were wander , off - topic , and not particularly focused on what would appear in test . However , it ’s impossible not to be intimate this loyal half - giant .
Hated: Gilderoy Lockhart
Much like Slughorn , Lockhart was n’t quite as evil as some of the professors over the years , but he was appallingly futile , and completely base . He did n’t deal about Dark magic or Death Eaters , though . Instead , Lockhart cared only about fame - and would do anything to get it . He stole the stories of capable witches and thaumaturgist , wiped their memories , and claim their achievements as his own … and he was even going to pass over the retention of his own students to protect his skin . It seems that he truly get what he deserved .
Loved: Minerva McGonagall
There ’s no one like Professor McGonagall . She ’s not the variety of favorable public figure that some of the other prof are , but she is impeccably fair , a phenomenal instructor , an incredible hag , and a woman of great bravery and clear morals . Unlike so many other teacher , she does not play favorites , and she oppose appropriately to student violation . However , it ’s the moments where she steps out of this perfectly fair authoritarian part that really makes lover love her . From her attacking Snape and let excited about using the enchantment to contribute the statue to liveliness and protect the schoolhouse , she ’s incredibly existent . Have a cooky , Professor McGonagall .
Hated: Dolores Umbridge
This should come as no surprisal - Dolores Umbridge , for many , ismore hated than Voldemort himself . This pink - clothe potentate first entered the school as Defence Against The Dark Arts Professor , but also as an examiner for the Ministry , and someone with the power to impose whatever rules she saw fit . These admit , among many , many other things , the creation of an ' Inquisitorial Squad ' , banning clubs , banning boys and lady friend sitting together ( Umbridge clearly did n’t think about Queer witches and wizards … ) , and of course , literally rack students by making them write lines in their own blood . She used veritaserum on children , fired Professor Trelawney , study pupil ’s postal service , and did n’t even teach them anything effective !
