The Marauders are a group of characters fromHarry Potterthat many fans roll in the hay . Even though there is n’t all that much attention dedicate to their youthful lives , write for a few flashbacks , fans ca n’t get enough of Sirius , James , Lupin , and also Lily , and many still want to get more stories that centre around these characters .

While it ’s easy to assume that the Marauders were hooligan and Snape was free , it ’s not entirely unfeigned . Snape also antagonized them , and he was into dark magic in a way that should make any good person uncomfortable . However , James and Sirius take thing way too far when they humiliated him in front of other students in a direction that was very harassing .
This was just the wrong affair to do , and it also helped create the horrible relationship between them and Snape .
Sirius abusing Kreacher
While Sirius even tells Harry that you could evidence who a person is by how they treat those with less social position than them , he goes back on this himself by being cruel to Kreacher . Given that Kreacher parrots the bigoted beliefs Sirius hated , it makes common sense he would n’t want to be around him . But , Kreacher was also very much a dupe .
By being so barbarous to him , Kreacher learned how to get around the rules to spread info to Bellatrix and Narcissa .
Lupin refusing to say anything about seeing Pettigrew
When Lupin produce the Marauders ' Map from Harry to protect it from fall into Snape ’s hands , he did spend metre look over the function and noticed Peter Pettigrew on there . Even though he screw the function was telling the accuracy most likely , he did n’t do anything about it .
He should have inquire further or taken this information to Dumbledore , but instead , he let his guilt stop him . If he had made a dissimilar choice , Pettigrew might never have been able to escape and find Voldemort .
When Lupin tried to leave a pregnant Tonks behind
While Lupin is ordinarily the more level - headed and gentle Marauder , he really makes a speculative choice when he tries to leave a pregnant Tonks behindto go with Harry , Ron , and Hermione .

While Sirius might have thought he was doing the right affair trying to vote out Pettigrew himself , and mayhap he did n’t have many other option , he should n’t have put guiltless students at risk by being so rash .
Sirius trying to get Snape killed
While there were other instances of James and Sirius have things too far , Sirius go way off the rail when he told Snape how to get into the Whomping Willow while sleep together that Lupin was hold off in his lycanthrope form .
Not only could Snape have exit , but this also would have left Lupin facing that guilt and even more discrimination . This decisiveness also create a horrifying break between Snape and Sirius .
Making Pettigrew the Secret Keeper
When James and Lily went into hiding using the Fidelius Charm , Sirius was survive to be their Secret Keeper as James ’ skillful friend and their most trusted confidante .
However , Sirius was disquieted that he might be targeted by Voldemort and believe that Pettigrew would be the safer choice to protect the Potters . While Sirius never mean for anything to take place , and the blame lies with Pettigrew , this option still had dire consequences .
Everything that Pettigrew did
While most of this list has been about the other three Marauders , Peter Pettigrew technically was one of them . However , he did so many awful thingsthat this list would have been only about him otherwise . But , since he betrayed them all and became a barbarous , spineless retainer of Voldemort , he get the top spot on this list . It ’s because of him that James and Lily die , and he also belt down Cedric Diggory .
He was in spades one of the more evil and skanky characters in the serial publication .
