That ’s right , Ernie ( aka " Ice " ) isless likable than the Sanderson sisters . Standing alongside his crony Jay , he ’s the gamy school bully who thinks he owns Salem . He ’s so full of himself that he come up with his own nickname and beg Jay to call him Ice instead of Ernie .
At the start of the film , Ernie conduct Max ’s sneakers while he was on his way home from body of work . Even worse , Ernie also called the Sanderson sisters ugly . Even though he ’s young and may originate out of his bullying ways , he has zero likability . Ernie may as well be one of the worst bullies in movie story .
Jay
Jay is almost as bad as Ice , but there ’s a softness about him that separates him from his cohort . glass is the brains of the surgical operation and Jay appears to surveil blindly while laughing at nonsense . He join Ice in slip Max ’s shoes from him and he also bullied kids in to give him their confect .
Jay has a lot of growing up to do . After the Sanderson sister abducted the bullies and lock them , Jay apologized extravagantly , test he learn a deterrent example of a life-time . But did he grow ? mayhap witness will find out in the rumor sequel .
Winifred Sanderson
Hocus Pocusmay be flighty movie but it’sa Halloween picture show the intact family can enjoy . Winifred is leader of her pack and sets the tone for her own family . Without Winifred , Mary and Sarah would be totally lost . Winifred is the one with a spellbook and the one that ’s able to scandalize and move multitude . She knows what she want and knows exactly what she has to do to get it done .
But as heady and witchy as Winifred is , she ’s still strangely likable . She ’s the evilest character in the movie and yet fans ca n’t facilitate but secretly support her . Even though she ’s a witch that ’s been dead for 300 years , she ’s uproariously relatable and just want to be young and live forever and a day . Is that so incorrect ?
Mary Sanderson
Mary ’s spirit is so iconic that online workshop are selling mask that have her look on it ! Like Winifred , Mary is an adversary who is on the hunt for children . Her power is the ability to smell nestling even if she ca n’t see them . It was thanks to her nozzle that the sister were capable to get Emily Binx and Dani Dennison , and work out out that Halloween night was all about children dressing in costumes .
However , no matter how badly Mary want to track down children she was n’t as bad as Winifred . She was goofy and loopy but at the same sentence , there was a parental instinct with Mary that made her likable . She provide to Winifred and formed a calming roach when she was stressed . She also coddled her when she mean they were about to die before finding the book again . It ’s Mary ’s fun personality and heat that gives her an edge over her drawing card babe .
Billy Butcherson
upright ol' Billy Butcherson was Winifred ’s ex-husband - boyfriend and Sarah ’s ex - fan . He ’s also been beat for over 300 age and only came back after Winifred vomit up a while on him .
Billy seem intimidating at first . He was practically a skeleton in dated clothes and messy fuzz . His mouth was also stitched shut , which seemed painful since he was trying to speak . He chased the three kids around the graveyard and mesh Max in a headlock to grab his pocket knife . After he cut his mouth open , he was able to explain that he was n’t trail the kids , he was just looking for help so he could speak again . He ended up protecting Dani from the Sanderson sisters , which proved his loyalty . Time will enjoin if Billy shows up in the second moving-picture show .
Max Dennison
To be frank , Allison , Dani , and Max would n’t be in the office they were in if it were n’t for the latter . He was the one who made Allison show them the Sanderson house and he was the virgin who lit the opprobrious flaming standard candle . If he did n’t deplumate those suave movement to impress Allison , the Sanderson sisters would have stayed dead .
Nevertheless , this does n’t make Max a sorry person . He ’s was naïve and trying to yarn-dye the girl he liked . WithHocus Pocusbeing a household - friendly Halloween moving-picture show , there ’s only so much shadow that can be shown . Max messed up , but he was likable for viewers because he was relatable . People always do silly things for love .
Sarah Sanderson
Sarah is far more likable than Winifred and Mary because she ’s never really paying attention . As Winifred said , she ’s consistently dancing in the scope " idiotically " and jounce to the beat of her own drum .
It ’s inspiring , really . true statement be tell , it does n’t seem like Sarah has a bad bone in her organic structure ; she just did what her babe told her to . Besides sucking the soul from Emily Binx , the only real bad thing she did was split upthe blood brother and sister duo , Max and Dani .
Dani Dennison
What ’s not to like about Dani ? She ’s young , funny , enthusiastic , and she ’s far braver than Max is . Max seems to be have a harder clock time getting used to Salem but Dani already has Quaker and is transition nicely . She want more than anything to go trick - or - cover with her chum but becomes excited at the chance to see the Sanderson menage .
As the only kid in the main cast , Dani makesHocus Pocusthe perfect movie for all age . Her courageousness and benignity make her as likable as they come .
Allison
Allison and Dani are alike in the way that they ’re both interested in Halloween , the Sanderson sisters , and escapade . Allison does n’t just roll over and go home after the Sanderson sisters come back from the dead ; she uses her knowledge of Salem and the witches to vote out them . lamentably , she should n’t have ever opened the book after they escaped from the sisters , but that does n’t make her less likable . Allison is the cool eminent schooler ' 90s fry all wish they were .
Thackery Binx
The most likable character in the intact picture is Thackery Binx . Although he ’s just a cat , he ’s a cat with a blue past and deep chronicle . He ’s been shut up to a lifetime of kitty - hood for over 300 age after he tried saving his younger sister . Not being able to do so haunted him and was something he had to live with always .
Had it not been for Thackery , who knows if Max , Dani , and Allison would have made it out awake . He ’s the one who tell the kidskin what they needed to do and to hide in the cemetery because it ’s sacred ground . Thackery is n’t likable just because he was a cat — he was a zep !
