Doctor Robotnik is back to rain down down more chaos inSonic The Hedgehog 2 , which is out in theaters April 8 , and he ’s bring his trusty crony Agent Stone ( Lee Majdoub , The 100 ) along for the ride . They ’re not the only single to retort , of course , as Sonic ( Ben Schwartz , Parks and Recreation ) and Tom ( James Marsden , Westworld ) are closer than ever in the sequel . Plus , Sonic ’s furred friend Tails ( play by vocalization actor Colleen O’Shaughnessey ) and his nemesis Knuckles ( Idris Elba , The Suicide Squad ) also join the playfulness .
We spoke to Majdoub about working alongside the iconic Jim Carrey , though it may be for the last metre , and come full circle when it make out to video biz fandoms after having once starred in his own fanmadePokemontrailer .

Lee Majdoub : I dig it . Team Robotnik . Here we go , smuggled and red .
I require to back it all the way up , because we ’ve never done an audience . I became intimate with you when you did this fanmade live actionPokémontrailer where you played Ash Ketchum , and I reckon it was so brilliant . Is it weirdly serendipitous to do a moving picture like this now that these types of picture are really being made ?
Lee Majdoub : It ’s wild , right ? Where it begin . We did that trailer that fan made blue , gritty Pokemon underworld dawdler 13 years ago . I think it was something like that . And to wait at everything now - to front at all the superhero moving-picture show , the video recording game movies - it ’s a total collar myself moment . It ’s very phantasmagorical .
And for it to be Sonic , in particular , for me is a liberal peck . Because that game - Sonic 2 -for me was the video game growing up .
There ’s some great Easter eggs in this . One being that the coffee store that you exploit at , the Mean Bean .
Lee Majdoub : Right ? So well done . They ’re so smart . This squad is so smart ; they ’re so audit .
I do n’t acknowledge if you match with me , but I think there ’s at least twice as many Easter eggs in this film as opposed to the first one .
Lee Majdoub : Yeah . frankly , I do n’t know if I caught them all , but there are a lot . I think it ’s such an awesome nod to the video games , and I think a lot of TV game fans will lose their minds .
It ’s a chore to be in scenes with Jim Carrey . I imagine the first time around , it ’s like , " I ’m working with this legend . " It ’s got to be a little spunk wracking . What does it feel like a 2nd time around ? Agent Stone has arguably some of the funniest consequence in the picture .
Lee Majdoub : give thanks you so much . Yeah , emphatically less face wracking . It was n’t really nerve bust up the first time ; it was more like I was anxious a small number , coming in and being such a huge sports fan of his . And that dissipated quickly , just with the team and Jim being so big hearted and so gracious .
But as far as work with him , it ’s so nerveless and so much fun . I just see at it as , " Be quick . " Just be ready and eat off him . A mint of the dialog was kind of bent this time around , and then once we would put away that in , we would encounter around a little bite more and figure things out .
I think I laughed a lot more on this one and broke a mint more on this one than I did on the first one .
People always take me , " Are you nervous to interview these mass ? " It ’s not spunk . It ’s more just like , " I want it to go well . "
Lee Majdoub : That ’s what it is . That ’s what it is . It ’s frankly , " Please be a good mortal . " That ’s mainly what it is . And then once you see that they ’re a with child human being , it kind of dissipates that anxiety or whatever you require to call it . A little moment of that parsimony in the bureau , the heartbeat …
I ’m sure you ’ve try the great unwashed talk about , " Never meet your heroes . It ’s always gon na be a disappointment . " And it was the entire opposite word . It ’s been the total opposition with Jim . Meet your sub .
