While Iron Man ’s story in theMarvel Cinematic Universeis mostly over , at least as far as lover eff , he ’s always go to be an influential character to that franchise . Given that the first Iron Man film started the MCU as we have it off it , and that he have so hard in many other films , he ’s a character that many people lie with .

However , even though he ’s a loss leader of the Avengers and hero , he ’s also rather flawed . He gain many mistakes , and there are many fan who do n’t like him much . Whether he ’s one of your favorite or least favorite characters , there are present moment where he made fans cheer and others where he get fans down .

Hate: When he was callous about Stark Industry weapons

When Tony Stark is first introduced in the films , he ’s stillthe rich , snarky playboy who does n’t really give care about anyone other than himself . He ’s rather unappealing in his neglect for his wallop on the world , and he could manage less that he ’s produce artillery that injure other people .

Obviously , this introduction is of the essence to his arc of becoming a hero , but he definitely was n’t admirable in these moment .

Love: Looking out for Peter Parker

Tony Stark might be a privileged and super deep someone , but he did n’t necessarily have an loose puerility . Depending on which backstory you go by , his father was derelict and vital at best and scurrilous at worst .

However , Tony did always want to be better than his father , and he started showing that he could be a unspoilt mentorwhen he looked after Peter Parker . This kinship definitely avail humanize Tony even further .

Hate: When he created Ultron

While Iron Man often means to make things right and keep enter the world , he often makes some boastful mistakes in how he rifle about this . His own guilt from the past times got the better of him whenTony , with the assist of Bruce Banner , created Ultron .

This was a dangerous and risky move even if Tony did n’t anticipate the outcome . For fan as well as the other Avengers , dealing with Tony ’s arrogance in this movie was frustrating .

Love: When he was a great father

While Tony Stark might not have seemed like a soul who would make a good parent for a long time , he changed a lot over the course of the films . He was a very knotty and loving father , and his view with Morgan were quite endearing .

It was great to see Tony be able to create a happier , healthier class for himself and to have a child   that he wanted for a long sentence .

Hate: All the times he was sexist

Many early MCU films struggled with sexism , and while the enfranchisement still is n’t perfect , they ’ve at least come a ways past this . In early films , Tony was the worst offender of all .

Love: Taking the warhead into the wormhole

Avengers : Endgametries to make a big raft out of Tony ’s sacrifice , butthe Sojourner Truth is that Iron Man show he was uncoerced to give himself to save others a foresighted timebefore this .

The conflict between his ideology and Captain America ’s was a big part of that film , and when Tony consume the payload up into the wormhole , he was take a chance his own life sentence because he knew it was the right matter to do .

Hate: Not talking to Cap about the Accords

In many ways , the conflicts and kinship betweenSteve Rogers and Tony Starkis more compelling than conflicts with the existent villains . These two are friends , allies , and sometimes close to enemies . While both of them made mistakes inCaptain America : Civil War , Tony mess up when he have it away about the Accords and did n’t talk to Steve or the squad first .

He understandably was thinking with his own guilt trip here over Ultron , and he wield this very ill . It ’s also frustrating because he really had no intention of ever comply any rules that anyone else set out for him , so he was being hypocritical .

Love: Sacrificing himself to save the universe

While Iron Man was actually unforced to buy the farm to save others for years , this was still a great second in the MCU . It was heartbreaking to see Tony pass away , but he had no other option if he was going to save the full existence .

Fans definitely understood at that moment that Tony Stark was a bomber who had become admirable in many ways even though he mess up up along the way .

Hate: Not wanting to help the Avengers with time travel

While luckily and not astonishingly , Tony does fit in to avail , and somehow invents time locomotion in the blink of an middle , it was still pestiferous when he did n’t want to help . While Tony might have gotten the folk he had always require , and he of class want to protect them , he was pretty callous about his friend who had lost hoi polloi , too .

It seemed out of character and like an attempt for the MCU to focus only on heterosexual home as oppose to find kinsperson story .

Love: When he saw the Avengers as a family

While pull off from the Avengers inEndgame , he was often the member of the team who cared the most about the other Avengers . He clearly saw them as a family in a way , and even Steve Rogers point out how much the Avengers intend to Tony at the remnant ofCivil War .

So , while the last movie might have tried to walk back on this , it was still one of the most endearing thing about him .
