InRick and Morty Presents : Hotel Immortal#1 by Alejandro Arbona and Marc Ellerby , Rick and Morty witness themselves involved in a slaying mystery while hanging out at the Immortality Field Resort . An alien of the Mleczarnian raceway is find dead in the recourse ’s kitchen pantry , and while Rick is indifferent to this scandalous exploitation , Morty aim it upon himself to help oneself solve the mystery as he feels good-for-naught for the alien ’s son he leave behind . After lining up a phone number of suspects and come to a few creative conclusions as to how this alien died , Morty finally convinces Rick to help figure out the slip , something he is able to quickly do once he learns the item of Mleczarnian existence . As it plough out , this particular alien race withinRick and Mortylives on a radioactive planet with cesium in their atmosphere . Because of their leave biology , the species is fundamentally Shrödinger ’s Cat , always simultaneously alive and dead so long as they outride in the ' closed corner ' of each other in their sight . Once one of their variety is out of wad of another , their wave routine collapses and they are either active or bushed the next clip they are seen . So , when this Mleczarnian went off by himself , he was risking being dead the next time he was seen , and regrettably for him , he was dead .
Because of the uniquely tragical nature of the Mleczarnian existence , there was no way forRick and Morty ’s Immortality Field Resort to account for this death . The alien race is in a permanent state of matter of quantum principle of superposition , just like Shrödinger ’s Cat , and this Edgar Guest was technically dead when he arrived , he was just at the same time awake . For this reason , his expiry could not be revoke and the recourse could do nothing to keep him alive for the length of his stay .
While tragic , no other Guest ( unless they are Mleczarnian ) have to worry about suffering this same lot . However , it is fitting that this exception would occur as it speaks to the vast landscape ofthe world in which Rick and Morty is fructify . Because there are an myriad amount of life forms existing in every conceivable way , there would of grade be a specie that could become flat in a place where expiry is apparently unacceptable . Rick and Morty ’s immortality refuge has a second deadly exclusion , and it likely wo n’t be its last .
