In Watto ’s case , his slaves were Shmi Skywalkerand her young Logos Anakin . He won them off of Gardulla the Hutt in a uncommon gambling win .
When Anakin returned to Tatooine after many years of Jedi training , he strike Watto had sold Shmi . This worked out for her as it was a Brobdingnagian improvement to her overall life , but giving up free labor was a bad choice for Watto .
He’s A Gambling Addict
