In James Tynion IV , Jorge Jimenez , Tomeu Morey , and Clayton CowlesBatmanrun , Bruce Wayne had discovered that Alfred build him a future suit for when he became a brighter knightin a future where he gain . Batman experienced that future in a hallucination via toxin , but the suit had never been worn in world by the superhero . Tynion IV teased the Batsuitwould appear again in his ' Joker War ' arc and inBatman#99 it has returned in a disgraceful style .

InBatman#99 , the Dark Knight brings hisBat - Familyback together after realizing he ca n’t block up Joker ’s putsch without his most trust allies . After Batman arrives at Ace Chemicals for a final showdown with his longtime villain , he runs into the revive corpse of Alfred as the Joker uncover that he " dug him up from your backyard myself . " As Batman stands at jounce at Alfred ’s return , the Joker point a gun at his head while wear his own Batsuit , telling him " see Bruce , I promised … you ’re not quick for this at all . "
The Joker ’s Batsuit is the same future suit of clothes Alfred made for Batman ’s brighter future . However , Joker has accessorized it as he please , adding a smile on the logotype , strike out " HA HA HA " across the suit , with his earmark sinister smile stand up out more than ever . The suit of clothes is n’t just Joker steal Batman ’s holding , it ’s the villain taking the future Alfred put out for his closest friend and degrading it . It ’s a shameful second somehow even more messed up factoring in Alfred ’s animate corpse showing up to the festivity .
The ' Joker War ' was all about inflicting trauma on Batman and taking over Gotham in the Joker ’s figure . It ’s secure to say , Joker has been successful in his genuinely grotesque intentions and actions . Gotham is in rough build and Batman ( just recovered from a toxin attack ) has to treat with a zombi - likeAlfred and the Jokertaking part of his future and toying with it . IfBatmancan overpower the Joker ’s trap , he can overcome practically anything - the question remains , can he overtake his shock and grief to save Gotham ? Jimenez ’s Batsuit looks great , but do n’t expect the Joker to keep it for long as the last chapter of the ' Joker War ' is coming next .
