The Legend of Korra
The Legend of Korra , overall , is an amazing show . With an IMDb score of 8.4 , the show is an decent sequel toAvatar : The Last Airbender , following the dangerous undertaking of Korra , the Southern Water Tribe Avatar that come right away after Aang who must pilot a world healed from the scars of the Hundred Year War , but filled with villains who seek to undermine the Avatar ’s import with their own singular ideologies .
Like all shows , there are a few episodes that stand out , as well as a few that do n’t pile up as much to others , often due to things like inadequate pacing , disconnected storytelling , and in a show likeThe Legend of Korra , sometimes from a want of natural process . While these instalment deserve to be watched just as much as others , given the show ’s analogue narration , many viewers might find themselves fast - forwarding to get to the " right parts " just a mo rather .
“The Voice in the Night” (8.3)
While " The Voice in the Night " might not be rated one of the good installment inThe Legend of Korra , it ’s by all odds an important one . It have a fair amount of flex action , starting with Korra ’s nightmare about Amon to open up the episode , before moving onto Tarrlok ’s invasion of a chi blocker training coterie that featured some impressiveWaterbendingaction .
The episode concludes with Korra being ambush by Amon just when she let her hold down . This episode also marked the beginning of Mako and Asami ’s relationship , but unfortunately , this important romance was overshadowed by Tarrlok ’s efforts to bend Korra to his will .
“The Guide” (8.2)
Though " The Guide " was a pivotal sequence in Book 2 , not much happened over the course of it .
The episode for the most part concentre on Korra and Tenzin adjudicate to get into the Spirit World , although given the fact that Jinora had been check spirits that no one else could well before this installment , most lover were capable to auspicate that she would be the one to guide Korra into the Spirit World by the episode ’s close .
“Civil Wars: Part 2” (8.1)
Much of the action in " Civil Wars : Part 2 " takes position towards the end , leaving the first half , while of import , pale in comparison .
While the scenes with Tenzin and his family were touching , they shifted the tone away from the brewing civil state of war in the Southern Water Tribe , which demanded more precedence as fans became aware of Unalaq ’s connivery .
“The Spirit of Competition” (8.0)
" The Spirit of Competition " give sports fan something they ’d never control in an episode ofAvatarbefore by not only focusing on the new sport ofPro - deflexion , but focus more on thedramatic , messy share of teen romance as Korra navigated city life and boys .
Being the fifth installment in the series , the sequence seemed to come a bit too too soon , since the compaction did n’t seem as natural as they would ’ve if they ’d been allowed to make over time . It was this episode that made the moral force between Korra ’s Team Avatar a snatch awkward so early on in their formation , form tension a routine affair in their radical .
“Rebel Spirit” (8.0)
It ’s unfortunate that " Rebel Spirit " , the first episode of Book 2 , was rated as one of the worst episodes ofThe Legend of Korra . The sequence jumps around a lot between different location across Republic City and the Southern Water Tribe , doing its best to wean viewer into a serial that focused more on smell than its predecessor .
While the fight against the evil spirit at the instalment ’s end was intriguing , there just was n’t enough bending action and concrete focal point on any one of the subplots to make this as whole of an sequence as the 1 that came before it .
“The Sting” (7.9)
With Korra having been lost at ocean in the premature sequence , " Peacekeepers " , " The Sting " focuses almost exclusively on Mako ’s efforts to work the casing behind Future Industries ' downed shipments .
While this was an interesting sequence , many lover may have felt like it interrupted the main conflict of the brewing civil warfare down in the Southern Water Tribe .
“The Southern Lights” (7.9)
" The Southern Lights " focus on Korra ’s family history a bit , as Unalaq explains Tonraq ’s expat from the Northern Water Tribe , spread out the traditional knowledge of the Water Tribe far more than what was given inAvatar : The Last Airbender . But of course , the focus was on Korra ’s struggle to start the southerly feeling portal .
It was interesting to see her conflict to do so , since she ’d been so used to exploiting her effectiveness as a means to fulfil her goal , but what would ’ve made this installment more impactful would ’ve been if Korra had been squeeze to dig up a little deeper to get to the sprightliness portal rather than just allude it afterentering the Avatar State .
“Civil Wars: Part 1” (7.8)
Like " Civil Wars : Part 2 " the highlight of this episode derive towards the ending , with Korra cross a kidnapping try on Unalaq . It was courteous to get to know Varrick a bit more intimately as he helped plan a revolution against Unalaq that set out to test Korra as she struggled to look out for her folk while doing her best to stay on neutral .
Unfortunately , the lower rating might number from this episode ’s pacing , since rooter never get the chance to see the full scope of the Northern Water Tribe ’s disruptions to Southern Water Tribe life .
“Peacekeepers” (7.8)
Not too much really happened in " peacekeeper " besides the blowup at the Southern Water Tribe Cultural Center in the beginning , and Korra getting lose at sea at the end .
Of course , seeing more of Bolin ’s thriving career as an actor and Tenzin ’s family vacation were unexpected kickshaw , but compare to other episodes , this one was n’t as memorable due to the want of legal action that fans ofThe Legend of Korratune in for in the first seat .
“Remembrances” (6.1)
In most show , recap episodes never do well , withThe Legend of Korra ’s recap episode being no exception . It did its proficient to give fan an incentive to find out by having the characters narrate the events of the past tense in the present moment , providing their own alone comment on case that occurred years ago , but it only slowed the action of Book 4 asthe difference of opinion against Kuvira boiled to an exciting climax .
Given that there were only 5 more installment leave in the series after this one , it might ’ve been a little too previous for a recap episode at this point .
